Question by tochau: cheapest place to buy a domain name (web hosting included and no ads or pop-ups)?
PREFERABLY $ 10 or less
i just tried active-domain, but it never said how much disk space you get, so im guessing they dont provide web hosting
or maybe free?
it will be a semi-recreational use, but needs to be professional
is $ 9.99 include hosting, and how much does it cost to renew every year?
intikad i, what is your web server’s name?

I bought my domain from GoDaddy last year and it was $ 9.99 and came with 1 free email address.
Edit: No1home2day…you must be confused with free domain hosting…Ads are not associated with Domain names. Get your facts straight before posting.
What do you think? Answer below!

You won’t be able to find an inexpensive domain with no ads or pop-ups. The ads and pop-ups are paid for by the companies whose ads appear, to help reduce the cost of the domain name.
In other words, you get what you pay for, or you let others help pay for it, but it’s a nuisance to you.
i can give your free host i own a server and i have a big space but how many visitors are you expecting for a day. i can give you 10GB web traffic for per moth and i dont think you can find better then that.. And i can give you 5GB WebSpace…

The last I looked around, there wasn’t anything cheaper per month for no-ad shared hosting than 1-And-1. Beware that the cheap rates at any of these places usually require you to pay yearly or bi-yearly in advance, and the much higher month-to-month rates in small print, often with a “start up” fee added on as well. Read all the fine print.
Also, before you sign up, make sure that you own your domain name that they are registering for you as part of the package and can transfer it to another registrar if you decide to change hosts later. You don’t want your domain held hostage.
Finally, look around on the web for complaints about the host. If you’re considering “SiteMeister” (fictitious), then web search for not only “SeitMeister reviews”, but also “SiteMeister scam”, “SiteMeister ripoff” and similar terms to see who’s unhappy with them and why. There is always somebody complaining, of course, but if you see to0 many complaints you may want to look elsewhere.
The only hosts I’ve used (I don’t do a whole lot of web stuff) are DreamHost, 1-And-1 and StartLogic–all with the cheapest shared hosting plans–and the only one I’d recommend is DreamHost–and then only if you want the shell logon access they provide and don’t mind email-only tech support because they don’t do telephone tech support. I have no business-practice complaints about 1-And-1. I don’t care for them because their servers are slow, at least on the US west coast. I’ve been burned twice by StartLogic on billing matters and won’t do business with them again.
But there are lots of other options….look around.
Don’t trust dishonest claims like “Best web hosting only $ 1 /month” or “Get the cheapest web hosting without sacrificing quality and features!!”. Take into consideration that some hosting companies are cheating and lying to their customers. It is very important that your service be uptime (functioning and available for use) . It means you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and users can enter your website whenever they refer to your site address. If your hosting service is not uptime it can be catastrophic!
As an experienced webmaster I recommend BH web hosting which I’m sure it would work for you and fulfill all your requirements. They have a really great offer for hosting & I have used them for over 3 yrs now, and have never had a single problem with them.
