Question by Jeffrey: what do you look for in a web hosting service?
I’m working with some friends on a comparison shopping site for people who are interested in buying web hosting. When you shop for hosting, what are the characteristics of a good host that you look for?

price, features, platform, location, partners(if any), types of plans, shared vs dedicated, SQL server hosting, support(technical and sales)

Price of course. They have to have good uptime. And the most important is the quality of the their customer and technical support. I look around and try to find customer reviews to get a real understanding.
I’ve used Yahoo web hosting, but way too expensive. I’ve used Godaddy.com, nice price, but service is spotty with such a large company. Now I mostly use them for domain registration. Now I use http://www.omnis.com.
